¿Qué haremos cuando una IA gane sola el premio Nobel? Reflexiones sobre el Nobel de Química de 2024
Resumen
El Premio Nobel de Química de 2024 se ha concedido a John Jumper y a Demis Hassabis por crear el programa que per-mite predecir la estructura tridimensional de las proteínas a partir de la secuencia de los aminoácidos, y a David Baker por el diseño de proteínas ex novo. El galardón reconoce el valor de la interdisciplinariedad y el ingenio humano para afrontar problemas hasta ese momento prácticamente irresolubles, así como las potenciales aplicaciones prácticas si se lograra do-minar completamente este campo del conocimiento. Examinado desde otra perspectiva, el premio nos interroga sobre la naturaleza, función y coexistencia de la Inteligencia Artificial con la actividad científica, así como sobre el creciente poder de las multinacionales a la hora de concentrar los datos y algoritmos que posibilitan la investigación
