Desafíos del método visual en la selección de color. revisión narrativa

La percepción del color es un proceso compuesto por tres elementos principales que son el observador, la fuente de luz y el objeto. En el método visual de selección del color del diente el operador debe comparar el color de los dientes con una guía de color y seleccionar la muestra mas parecida al diente natural considerando cada una de las variables de estos tres elementos, lo que representa una tarea sensible y desafiante para el operador. El objetivo de este estudio fue compilar, seleccionar y resumir los conceptos mas actuales e importantes de este método para poder facilitarle al lector la comprensión y ejecución de este delicado procedimiento. Para esto se realizó un estudio documental de tipo revisión bibliográfica narrativa, utilizando como estrategias de búsqueda en bases de datos electrónicos como Pubmed, Scielo, Research Gate y MDPI. Los términos utilizados fueron en inglés y español: "Shade matching", "Visual method", selección de color y método visual. Para este propósito se revisaron 36 artículos de los cuales se seleccionaron 15. Para esta selección de incluyeron artículos publicados en un periodo desde el año 2002, hasta el año 2022, así como artículos que fueran revisados por pares. A su vez se excluyeron artículos que no fueran publicados en revistas científicas y artículos que no abarcaran el tema integralmente. En esta revisión bibliográfica, como conclusión principal, se determino que, para el éxito en el resultado de este método, es critico y determinantes manejar y comprender la interacción de cada uno de los elementos condicionantes involucrados en el.
