La Antropología Biológica en América Latina y el Caribe: Avances y perspectivas

Resumen


Se aborda el surgimiento y evolución de la Antropología Biológica como ciencia en América Latina y el Caribe, las escuelas de formación, sus principales investigadores, los problemas de investigación en el ámbito de las sociedades prehispánicas, como el tema del poblamiento temprano de América y la salud de las sociedades antiguas. Se destaca el papel que ha jugado la Antropología Forense en la búsqueda e identificación de los desaparecidos por diferentes conflictos en los países latinoamericanos. Se concluye que esta disciplina ha aportado de manera significativa al conocimiento del pasado y presente de la variabilidad biológica de nuestras poblaciones.
