Economía y Cambio Climático: Un análisis económico de las decisiones de mitigación en América Latina

Resumen


Este artículo analiza, desde una perspectiva económica y de desarrollo, la posición
negociadora de los países de América Latina respecto a la mitigación del cambio
climático, sus determinantes principales y sus modifi caciones en los últimos 20
años. Se desarrolla y aplica una metodología de análisis sistemático de las declaraciones
de los países en las negociaciones a fi n de identifi car un quiebre de posición
en relación con la mitigación y se analizan los mecanismos de gobernanza
internacional y los incentivos a la participación que han sido introducidos en la
arquitectura climática internacional que podrían explicar los cambios observados,
prestando especial atención a las implicancias para el desarrollo económico de las
decisiones y políticas asociadas.
