Uso de la hidroxiapatita de calcio como cicatrizante de heridas

Resumen


La hidroxiapatita de calcio (HA) se ha utilizado ampliamente como biomaterial para la regeneración ósea y tejidos blandos debido a su biocompatibilidad y capacidad osteoconductiva. Varios estudios demuestran que la HA posee propiedades cicatrizantes cuando se aplica localmente en heridas; esto se debe a que promueve la migración, proliferación y diferenciación de queratinocitos, fibroblastos y endoteliales, acelerando así los procesos de cicatrización. En este trabajo se presenta una revisión de los estudios más relevantes sobre el uso de la hidroxiapatita de calcio como cicatrizante de heridas tanto en animales como en seres humanos.
